Caitlin Olson is a fully certified Level 2 Integrative Trauma Practitioner and Somatic Coach through the Integrative Psychology Institute. She provides trauma-informed somatic coaching in Okotoks, Alberta, supporting clients who want to better understand the connection between their experiences, nervous system and body.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, somatic coaching does not rely solely on verbally processing what has happened. Sessions bring the body into the conversation by gently noticing physical sensations, protective patterns, emotions, movement impulses and nervous system responses as they arise. Clients do not need to retell every detail of their experiences or push themselves beyond what feels manageable.

Depending on each client’s needs and comfort level, Caitlin may incorporate somatic tracking, orienting, grounding, resourcing, breath awareness, body mapping, gentle movement, nervous system education, co-regulation and consent-based boundary practices. Every session is collaborative and moves at the client’s individual pace, with an emphasis on choice, curiosity and building a greater capacity to remain present with what the body is communicating.

Caitlin commonly supports clients navigating chronic stress, anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, disconnection, persistent tension, difficulty slowing down and the physical or emotional patterns that can develop after overwhelming life experiences. Her work is practical, educational and designed to help clients develop body-based tools they can use in everyday life.

Somatic coaching is not a replacement for counselling, psychotherapy or medical care. Caitlin values collaborative care and regularly works alongside therapists, psychologists, physicians and other regulated healthcare professionals as part of a client’s broader support system.

In-person somatic coaching sessions are available in Okotoks for clients throughout the Foothills, High River and South Calgary areas, with online sessions available for clients across Canada and the United States.
